The festival archives contain not only recordings of great jazz performances but also interviews, panels, and oral histories about the festival. The interviews with musicians provide important documentation on the festival, the artistic aims of the performers, and jazz in general. Among some of the interesting interviews are: Max Roach and Dave Brubeck with Herb Wong in 1994 and 1998, Bobby Hutcherson with Orin Keepnews in 1996, and a series of interviews by National Public Radio in 1980 including John Lewis, Clark Terry, and others.
