Stanford Historical Photograph Collection

Access and Permissions

Original photographs from the Stanford Historical Photograph Collection may be viewed in the Department of Special Collections and University Archives. The department's reading room (2nd floor of the Bing Wing, Green Library) is open Monday through Friday 10am to 5pm. Researchers must first review the online guide to the collection (at: http://www.oac.cdlib.org/findaid/ark:/13030/tf767nb2df) to determine which folders would be of interest, noting the series (GP, BP or SF) and the box number. This information should then be sent to the public service staff at speccollref@stanford.edu at least 24 hours in advance of the researcher's visit. It is also possible to make the request in person in the reading room, but the requested photographs would not be available for use until the following day.

Digital images from the Stanford Historical Photograph Collection may be viewed freely. These images may not be reproduced or used for any purpose without permission. For permission requests please contact the University Archives at archivesref@stanford.edu.
